This was a pitch piece. It’s my favorite piece of work over the last three years. A new drug was out to help slow the progression of dementia. It essentially bought patients — and their families — time. The idea here was simply to listen to family members. In this case, we were lucky enough to get the artist Phil Toledano, author of the book “Day With My Father,” a remarkable accounting of his experience caring for his father.
